New DC Principal Named at Mercer

Chris Blair joined Mercer’s San Francisco office as a principal for the firm’s defined contribution (DC) adviser specialty practice.

Blair’s role will include providing advisory services to DC plan clients throughout the Northern California market. He will report to Christopher Renz, a Mercer partner and San Francisco health and benefits practice leader.

Blair joins Mercer from AUL/OneAmerica, where he led the firm’s Northern California retirement services office. Earlier in his career, Blair held leadership positions at The Principal Financial Group, Union Bank of California and Schwab Retirement Services. He earned a B.S. degree in business administration from the University of New Hampshire, and an M.B.A. in finance from Clark University.

KCG Consolidates Broker/Dealers

KCG Holdings Inc. has completed the consolidation and renaming of its U.S. broker/dealer operations into KCG Americas LLC.

The new broker/dealer arrangement is meant to simplify KCG’s subsidiary structure. In a statement, the firm says the consolidated operations will generate cost savings and release additional capital.

To create KCG Americas LLC, the brokerage operations of GETCO Execution Services LLC and GETCO Securities LLC were first consolidated into Knight Capital Americas LLC.

OCTEG LLC, a unit of GETCO, was then merged into Knight Capital Americas LLC, which was subsequently renamed KCG Americas LLC, effective December 31, 2013.
