Brittany Del Favero
PLANADVISER: Tell us about your role at your firm and how you contribute to its growth and progress. How did you end up there?
Del Favero: As an account specialist at Creative Planning, I support our consultants by managing a wide range of responsibilities that keep client relationships running smoothly. I love being the person who anticipates what’s needed before it’s asked. When timelines are met, tasks are streamlined and the client experience feels seamless, it means I’ve done the heavy lifting behind the scenes to help deliver on our promise to the plan sponsor and their participants.
I come from a unique background, originally earning a bachelor of science degree in human nutrition with plans to pursue a career in medicine. Over time, through reflection and experience, I realized that path wasn’t the right fit. I decided to pivot toward something that genuinely excited me: the financial world. I began at a small wealth management firm and eventually found my way into the retirement industry. I absolutely love it! It allows me to help people while doing work I truly enjoy, and I can’t wait to see where it takes me in the coming years.
PLANADVISER: Have you had mentors or role models? Who are they and what lessons have you learned from them?
Del Favero: Absolutely, and I’m incredibly grateful for them. Two women stand out as especially formative during my time at Creative Planning.
McKenzie Johnson, a senior consultant on our team, generously offers her time every Friday to help dive into questions and technical topics. She explains things with clarity, calmness and depth. I’ve learned so much from how she communicates and educates others, and I strive to bring that same clarity to my own work.
Sally Johnson, a managing director on our team, has also been a powerful mentor. Her insight into client relationships, her drive and her generosity with her time have made a lasting impression. She leads with both heart and expertise, and I admire how deeply she builds trust with her clients.
These women have shaped not only my career development, but also the kind of professional I hope to become: thoughtful, generous and someone others can rely on.
PLANADVISER: What are you most passionate about outside of the office?
Del Favero: Outside of work, my greatest joy is spending time with my family: my 1-year-old daughter, my husband and our golden retriever. We love being outdoors as much as possible, whether it’s hiking, camping or just going on a long walk. I also find joy in creative outlets like crocheting, baking and art. These moments help me slow down, be present and recharge.
In many ways, these passions mirror what I value at work: finding beauty in the details, connecting and showing up for others. Motherhood, especially, has taught me how to be more empathetic, adaptable and intentional, all the qualities I bring into my professional interactions.
