App Helps Advisers Do Research on the Go

Markov Processes International (MPI) has released its MPI Stylus Web research system as a mobile application (app) for the iPad, Android and Microsoft Surface tablet devices.

Users of the app can generate a range of reports, including single manager, manager comparisons, portfolio-level, single retirement plan, retirement plan comparisons and target-date fund (TDF) analyses. The app produces research and reporting quickly and easily, according to the firm.

Recognizing that advisers have increased their use of mobile devices and the resultant productivity growth, MPI looked for ways to help clients generate and access reports when working from remote locations. Client involvement in the alpha and beta stages aided the development initiative to adapt its Stylus Web offering, introduced in 2010, to tablet format. Client feedback worked to concentrate the app’s development on the functions most relevant to reporting, marketing and analysis for advisers and asset management firms.

Users benefit from added versatility and preparation while conducting business out of the office. For an employee in the field, reports can be generated on the spot or pulled in real time from team members working in the office. The application also helps firms with a commitment to minimizing environmental impact, eliminating the need for excessive paper-based prospecting and reporting. MPI Stylus Web underwent a redesign with some functionality enhancements so that users can find, create and run reports faster than before.

The iPad app is available through the Apple App Store, with the ability to save reports directly to the application. The Android and Microsoft versions are accessed via browser.
