Manulife to Offer Franklin Templeton Target-Date Offerings

Manulife Financial has announced a new strategic arrangement with Franklin Templeton Investments under which Templeton LifeSmart Portfolios will be made available to Canadian group retirement clients. 

A news release said the offering is a target-date product with risk overlay options and will be available beginning September 1, 2010.

LifeSmart Portfolios combine the benefits of target date, target risk and active portfolio management, providing performance potential with a simplified investment process, according to the company.

Sanderson Appointed as Hartford Govt. Plans VP

The Hartford Financial Services Group has tapped Scott Sanderson as vice president, government market and client management in the Retirement Plans Group. 

A news release said Sanderson is now responsible for sales of retirement plans to state, county and municipal employers. He will also lead The Hartford’s retirement plans retention and education teams.

Sanderson joined The Hartford in January of 2000 as the southeast regional sales manager and was promoted in January of 2004 to vice president and national sales manager of the Investment Products Division.

Prior to joining the company, he spent six years with AM South Investments Services as a product manager and regional sales manager.  Most recently, Scott was vice president and managing director of structured products and head of sales for Hartford Life Private Placement in Legacy Holdings.

Sanderson began his career as a financial consultant and has worked as a wholesaler and sales manager.
