Retirement Group Releases 403(b) Auto Features Guidance

Retirement Made Simpler (RMS) released an online toolkit to provide employers with step-by-step guidance for implementing 403(b) plan automatic features.

Employers that offer 403(b) plans can find the comprehensive guide to implementing automatic features on the RMS Web site at www.RetirementMadeSimpler.org/403b.

The resource includes basic facts, benefits to employers, and sample forms, such as new employee notice of enrollment and opt-out forms. The toolkit also explains changes to the retirement fund landscape established by the Pension Protection Act.

“We wanted to provide educational institutions and non-profits that have 403(b) plans a one-stop resource covering everything from the basics of automatic enrollment to best practices such as automatic escalation,” said John Gannon, Senior Vice President of the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), in a news release. “The 403(b) Toolkit offers step-by-step guidance and sample communications to help simplify implementation.”

Retirement Made Simpler is a coalition formed by AARP, FINRA and the Retirement Security Project (RSP). The coalition was created to support employers who want to help their employees save more for retirement.

 

Cordasco Joins Nationwide Retirement Team

Nationwide Financial Services chose Carlo Cordasco as retirement income planning specialist covering the Northeast region.

In addition to educating advisers on the latest research and trends in retirement income planning, Cordasco will also be responsible for helping them use Nationwide’s income planning capabilities.

Cordasco will report to Kevin McGarry, director, retirement incomes strategies for Nationwide Financial. He joins Nationwide with nearly 20 years experience in the investments and retirement marketplace. Most recently, Cordasco served as Regional Director for RS Investments in the Northeast/mid-Atlantic region where he more than doubled sales during the past 12 months.

Cordasco earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Finance from Charter Oak State College in New Britain, Connecticut.
