Mutual of America Debuts Enhanced Website

Mutual of America released an enhanced version of its website.

Users of the new Mutualofamerica.com will now see:

  • A look that is more visually appealing and user friendly;
  • Enhanced navigation via improved underlying technology; and
  • Easier access to timely and helpful information.

  • Convenient, 24/7 access to Mutual of America account information to carry out tasks such as making allocation changes, transferring funds, reviewing rates of return, and reviewing recent financial transactions;
  • Educational articles and news about saving for retirement; and
  • Interactive resources and tools such as retirement-related calculators.

“The website enhancements will enrich our customers’ experience as they access our online educational tools and resources to plan for a financially secure future,” says William Rose, senior executive vice president and chief marketing officer of Mutual of America.

Principal Unveils Enroll-by-Text Service

A new service from the Principal Financial Group enables workers to enroll in an employer-sponsored retirement plan through text messages.

Workers can also join their employer’s retirement plan through a new mobile website, according to a statement from the firm.

“By making the [enrollment] process quick and convenient, we’re able to battle inertia and get individuals to start saving right away,” says Jerry Patterson, senior vice president of retirement income strategy at The Principal.

Once individuals have chosen their contribution amount by text message or the quick-enrollment website, new participants can then select their investment elections online or by phone. This can be done at the same time or at a time convenient for the individual.
