Hartford Names New Head of Retirement Plans

The Hartford Financial Services Group has named Sharon Ritchey executive vice president of retirement plans.

In this role, effective immediately, she will oversee all aspects of the firm’s employer-sponsored retirement plans business, covering the corporate, public, and education markets.

Ritchey succeeds Jamie Ohl, who was named to the position in 2008 (see “The Hartford Restructures Employer Markets Group” ) and who the company says “is leaving The Hartford to pursue another opportunity.”

Previously, Ritchey, who has been at The Hartford since 1999, was executive vice president and director of Operations, Technology and eBusiness for the company’s Wealth Management division.

Prior to joining Hartford Life in 2007, Ritchey was senior vice president of property & casualty operations, responsible for commercial and personal lines agency service, as well as sales and service for The Hartford’s affinity AARP Personal Lines program.  She has more than 26 years of financial services industry experience and has served in leadership roles across marketing, operations, service, and technology at companies including Citibank and GE Capital.
