2025 Excellence In Operations

Erinn Metzger

Director of Operations and Relationship Management,
CSi Advisory Services, a division of HUB International

PLANADVISER: What are the skills that are most needed to be successful in your role?

Metzger: Success in my role requires a blend of strategic insight, operational discipline, a client-first mindset and cultivating a culture that builds confidence in all team members’ contributions. I focus on aligning our day-to-day processes with long-term business goals, ensuring that every system and workflow supports a seamless, compliant and scalable client experience.

I’m constantly working with our team to look for ways to streamline operations while never losing sight of the impact our work has on people’s financial futures, as well as the morale of our team.

Leadership is central to my approach. I’m building and nurturing a high-performing team that thrives on accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement. Together, we’ve fostered a culture where operational excellence directly translates into stronger client relationships and measurable business results.

Ultimately, I see my role as an engine behind the scenes—connecting people, systems and strategy to deliver an experience that’s not only reliable, but exceptional.

PLANADVISER: What have you done that you are most proud of?

Metzger: Wow, the questions asked through this process have been an eye-opening beginning to my new era of rediscovery!

What I’m most proud of is the journey I’ve taken, both personally and professionally. As a first-generation college graduate and as a woman, I’ve worked hard to build a career—navigating challenges, learning through experience and proving to myself that I belong in every room I step into. That determination has shaped who I am as a leader.

But more than any title or milestone, I’m most proud of the example I’ve set for my daughter. Raising her while building my career has been the most meaningful part of my life. She’s seen the long hours, sacrifices, hard decisions and moments of growth—and sees me as strong, as well as appreciative of the life we’ve built. Knowing that I’ve influenced her to believe in herself and pursue her goals with confidence and joy means everything to me.

That legacy of breaking barriers and opening doors for the next generation is what I carry with me in my roles, each challenge and every success. It’s not just about what I’ve achieved, but about who I’ve become along the way.

PLANADVISER: What are you most passionate about outside of the office?

Metzger: Outside of work, I’m passionate about travel, spending quality time with my daughter and embracing a new chapter as an empty nester. Travel energizes me—it’s where I find inspiration, perspective and a bit of adventure. Whether it’s discovering a new country or returning to a favorite city, I love how it pushes me out of routine and into the present.

My daughter has always been at the center of my world, and even as she grows and heads off to college, our bond continues to be something I deeply value.

Now that I’m entering the empty-nester phase, I’m learning to rediscover myself. It’s been a refreshing shift—having the space to explore new interests, reconnect with old ones and just ask, “What’s next for me?” It’s a season of curiosity, reflection and growth, and I’m embracing it with open arms.
