Principal Offers Retirement Income Planning Tools for Advisers

The Principal Financial Group unveiled new resources for advisers to tap into the burgeoning retirement income market.

Principal Retirement Income Edge offers education, tools, and other resources to help financial professionals meet client needs and grow their retirement income planning business, Principal said in a news release.

“There is no one-size-fits-all approach to retirement income planning. Financial professionals play a critical role in the complex task of turning a nest egg into a lifetime income,” said Ron Danilson, senior vice president, Retirement and Investor Services at The Principal, in the release. “Principal Retirement Income Edge helps financial professionals design tailored solutions for their clients.”

Principal said the program includes:

  • a broad spectrum of products—from mutual funds to annuities to CDs;
  • prospecting and marketing materials;
  • retirement income planning seminars for financial professionals and their clients;
  • retirement planning checklists;
  • educational materials and thought capital.

 

MassMutual Adds Education Content to Web Site

MassMutual's Retirement Services Division recently added new holistic financial planning content to the MassMutual RetireSmart Academy, its participant education Web site.

A MassMutual news release said the newest content includes a variety of calculators, interactive charts, audio tutorials, articles, and seminars that enable participants to explore a variety of financial topics at various life stages including “Buying Your First Home,” “Helping to Care for Aging Parents,” “Estate Planning Basics,” and more.

“Today more than ever, participants are looking to trusted sources for information—not just about retirement planning and saving—but also on all manner of financial topics,” said E. Heather Smiley, chief marketing officer for MassMutual’s Retirement Services Division, in the news release. “We will continue to respond to their needs by expanding our offering of educational information and tools on RetireSmart Academy.”
