AUL Retirement Hires VP of Product and Marketing Strategy

The Retirement Services division of American United Life Insurance Company (AUL), a OneAmerica company, announced Peter Welsh has been named to the newly created position of vice president of product and marketing strategy.

An announcement said Welsh’s primary focus will be leading the Retirement Services marketing teams, developing new products and services, income retention, and strategy with third-party administrators (TPAs). He hopes to continue building AUL’s offerings in the small-plan market by developing a trust platform and examining current product offerings.

Previously, Welsh worked for Lincoln Financial Group and Transamerica Retirement Services. Before joining AUL, Welsh co-founded and served as managing director for Chicago-based Pulse Logic.

BPAS Upgrades Partner Toolbox

BPAS, a national provider of plan administration, actuarial, and institutional trust services in support of financial intermediaries, has launched a major upgrade to its Partner Toolbox.

The Web-based tool gives financial intermediary partners 24-hour access to a library of tools to build their retirement plan business, according to a press release.

Some enhancements of the new site include a search feature allowing users to browse the 185 pieces and tools available, a simplified login feature, and a ‘Partner Training Sessions’ tab. In this tab, BPAS will provide ongoing training and insights for financial intermediary partners, using Powerpoint and Brainshark presentations and podcasts.

The announcement said the concept of the toolbox is to help partners build their retirement business through the cross-pollination of ideas and best practices, and a process of continuous learning.
