Genworth Adds Eaton Vance as Portfolio Strategist

Genworth Financial Wealth Management (GFWM), a subsidiary of Genworth Financial, Inc., has added Eaton Vance as a Portfolio Strategist for client accounts.

According to a press release, Eaton Vance provides individual investors, institutions, and financial professionals with a range of investment solutions.  Under this new agreement, financial advisers on GFWM’s platform will have the option to select Eaton Vance as Portfolio Strategist for client accounts utilizing GFWM’s Absolute Return and Tactical Unconstrained Asset Allocation approaches.  

Absolute Return is an Asset Allocation Approach that seeks modest returns through highly-active, extremely risk-sensitive management that may include alternative strategies.  The Tactical Unconstrained Asset Allocation Approach provides for broad flexibility in terms of asset class selections and allocation shifts, allowing the Portfolio Strategist to move in response to changes in market outlook.

CPI to Offer Symetra Daily Value Fixed Account

Symetra Life Insurance Company announced its Daily Value Fixed Account (Daily Value) feature for retirement plans is now available on the CPI Qualified Plan Consultants, Inc., retirement program platform.

The Symetra Daily Value Fixed Account is an unallocated group annuity created for 403(b)/457 plans and other qualified retirement programs.  According to the announcement, Daily Value is designed to complement the broker-dealer platform of funds by offering a fixed rate of return account that is daily valued, similar to a mutual fund.  

“We created the Daily Value feature to merge the safety and stability of a fixed annuity with the convenience many broker-dealers associate with mutual funds. Our new CPI relationship makes it even easier for broker-dealers to expand their platform of funds,” said Scott Bartholomaus, executive vice president of 403(b)/457 Distribution at Symetra, in the announcement.

“There are only a few fixed account options that are available to the 403(b) and 457 market, so this is an exciting addition,” Jon Prescott, CPI’s chief marketing officer, added.
