CPI Qualified Plan Consultants Expands Into Upstate New York

Sean Zent has been hired as a retirement plan consultant, opening an office in Buffalo, New York, for CPI Qualified Plan Consultants Inc.

Zent will represent CPI with retirement plan sponsors and their financial advisers in upstate New York and western Pennsylvania, as they design and develop qualified and nonqualified retirement plan programs.

“Sean Zent has valuable experience and expertise with retirement plans and investments,” said Bill Feldmaier, national sales director. “We are happy to have him join the CPI team and are confident he will do an excellent job for the area.”

Zent brings to CPI almost 15 years of expertise in the retirement and financial services industries. Most recently, he was a principal in the Touchstone Retirement Group LLC, where he developed and managed retirement plan business through independent registered investment advisers (RIAs), registered representatives, third-party administrators and broker/dealers. Zent holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Plattsburgh State University.  

“Sean Zent and the new Buffalo office allow us to enhance our focus in this important area of the northeastern United States,” said Jon Prescott, president of CPI. “We are excited to be able to find the right person to open this first in a series of new consulting offices slated to be up and running by the end of 2013.”

CPI Qualified Plan Consultants, in Great Bend, Kansas, provides recordkeeping and administrative services for qualified and non-qualified defined contribution retirement plans.

 

Neuberger Berman Names Gill SVP, Head of Accounts

Brendan M. Gill was appointed senior vice president and head of national accounts in the adviser solutions group of Neuberger Berman Group LLC.

Gill leads a five-person relationship management team for all wirehouse and independent broker/dealers, and will have primary responsibility for the Morgan Stanley Smith Barney relationship. Gill reports to Jason Ainsworth, managing director and head of Neuberger Berman’s adviser solutions group. The appointment was effective August 30.

Gill has approximately 19 years of financial services experience. Before joining Neuberger Berman, he served as director of national accounts at MFS Investment Management since July 2008. In that post, he managed key broker dealer relationships, including Morgan Stanley Smith Barney, UBS, LPL and Raymond James, and served as global relationship leader for the MSSB and UBS accounts. Previously, he was a sales executive at firms including John A. Levin and Co., Lincoln Financial, Delaware Capital, and Pioneer Group. Gill began his financial services career as an account representative at Met Life in 1993. He holds a bachelor’s of science degree in human resources management from Boston College.
