AUL Teams with Mesirow for Fiduciary Service

American United Life (AUL) Retirement Services has recently teamed with Mesirow Financial’s Investment Strategies department to launch its Fiduciary Partnership Service.

Mesirow Financial takes fiduciary responsibility with respect to investment option selection and monitoring for AUL’s plan sponsor clients through this relationship with AUL, according to a news release.

A list of investment options from AUL’s platform is approved by Mesirow Financial for fiduciary coverage—providing the opportunity for a financial adviser working with a plan sponsor to have input in selecting investments for the plan lineup if desired, Mesirow Financial said.

To further support the plan sponsor’s fiduciary responsibilities, Mesirow Financial said it delivers a quarterly reporting package, including market commentary and a detailed due-diligence report. The report covers issues with investment performance, organizational changes, legal concerns, investment policy changes, consistency of style, and expense.

John Hancock Appoints Stanley to New Post

Robert Stanley has been promoted to senior vice president of Sales Development, John Hancock Retirement Plan Services (RPS), the company announced.

In this role, Stanley reports to Arthur Creel, executive vice president, Sales and Marketing, John Hancock RPS, and is responsible for managing the teams that support the company’s sales and distribution group including those handling training and education, business intelligence, meeting management, sales team compensation, broker/dealer contracts, and competitive intelligence. 

Stanley, who joined John Hancock in 2001 in Annuity Operations, most recently served as vice president, John Hancock RPS Operations. Prior to joining John Hancock, Stanley served as a business consulting manager on the financial services industry team at Arthur Anderson.
