Aria Retirement Solutions Launches Guaranteed Income Product

 

Aria Retirement Solutions introduced the first of its series of RetireOne guaranteed income solutions.

 

These solutions serve independent Registered Investment Advisers (RIAs) operating fee-only practices to retain and actively manage investments on behalf of their clients.

Based on a stand-alone living benefit (SALB) product design, RetireOne Transamerica is a fixed contingent annuity that provides an income guarantee on a portfolio of underlying assets. It provides the benefits of a guaranteed income insurance product while allowing traditional investment vehicles such as no-load mutual funds and exchange-traded funds (ETFs) offered from leading fund families, including American Funds, iShares, PIMCO, Vanguard and Dimensional Fund Advisers.

Transamerica Advisors Life Insurance Company provides the income guarantee.

The RetireOne Transamerica solution is the first of what David Stone, chief executive officer of Aria Retirement Solutions, anticipates will be several RetireOne income solutions provided by Aria in partnership with major insurance carriers.

 

Brown Advisory Launches Equity Income Fund

Brown Advisory added a new mutual fund, the Brown Advisory Equity Income Fund.
 

The fund officially launched on December 30, 2011 and is available through Brown advisory and other financial advisers.

Focused on delivering current income and dividend growth through investments in high-quality companies, the fund invests at least 80% of the value of its net assets in a diversified portfolio of equity securities. In addition, the fund may also invest up to 20% of its assets in investment grade and non-investment grade debt securities or unrated debt securities of comparable quality.

While the fund may purchase securities of companies of various market capitalizations, the focus is on larger companies with market capitalizations equal to or greater than $1 billion at the time of investment. Potential investment opportunities will be evaluated from a number of perspectives in an effort to select those that offer the most attractive return prospects.

Brown Advisory portfolio managers Michael L. Foss, CFA and Brian Graney, CFA are responsible for managing the fund and lead all buy and sell decisions, supported by a research team of 18 equity analysts. Together, Foss and Graney bring an average of 18 years of portfolio management experience.
