Advisor Group to Offer SunGard Social Media Solution

Advisor Group, an independent network for broker/dealers, will be offering its advisers access to SunGard’s Protegent Social Media Surveillance tool.

SunGard’s Protegent Social Media Surveillance offering will be added to Advisor Group’s proprietary VISION2020 Advisor Portal. VISION2020 is a single sign-on platform that provides advisers access to the following tools: client account information; office automation; compliance and marketing tools; the VISION2020 Wealth Management system for fee-based advisers; and personalized news and alerts.

Advisor Group says SunGard’s Protegent Social Media Surveillance will help support its advisers’ use of social media to grow business while remaining compliant with regulatory obligations.

“We considered many vendors over the last seven months to ensure we built the best solution for advisers. We’ve been piloting our offering with small focus groups since February and we are eager to launch our offering to all advisers,” said David Ballard, Chief Information Officer of Advisor Group.

Protegent will monitor and archive advisers’ content posted to Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter. Protegent’s alerting, reporting and pre-approval workflow will help Advisor Group proactively adhere to FINRA books and records surveillance requirements.

To ensure advisers understand social media sites and how to develop content, Advisor Group has already been offering online and live training courses for advisers.

Advisor Group is one of the largest independent broker/dealer networks in the U.S. and consists of FSC Securities Corporation, Royal Alliance Associates, and SagePoint Financial, Inc. These independent broker/dealers, with more than 4,800 independent financial advisers, are all wholly-owned subsidiaries of Advisor Group.

The Target 2055 Fund is designed to meet the investment needs of investors who are just beginning the accumulation phase of their lives, with more than 40 years ahead of them until retirement. The fund offers investors 90% equity risk exposure, providing young investors with greater return potential.

Global Index Advisors (GIA) will manage the Target 2055 Fund as the fund’s sub-adviser, and will maintain the model that generates the risk allocation used in establishing equity, bond, and cash allocations for the fund. State Street Global Advisors (SSgA) is the manager for the underlying equity and bond portfolios, and Wells Capital Management is responsible for managing the cash portfolio.

“We believe that starting early is the best way for investors to achieve their longterm retirement goals,” said Andrew Owen, head of the Marketing, Investments and Product team with Wells Fargo Funds Management. “With that in mind, the Wells Fargo Advantage Dow Jones Target 2055 Fund now offers investors who are embarking on their careers the opportunity to establish a retirement plan that is well diversified across a broad range of asset classes and investment styles based on their time horizon until retirement.”
