Kolinsky Names Retirement Plan Services Director

Kanika Brooks was hired as director of retirement plan services for Kolinsky Wealth Management Inc., an independent registered investment adviser in Woodcliff Lake, New Jersey.

In her new role, Brooks will manage clients’ 401(k), defined benefit and defined contribution plans. Additional responsibilities include handling employee enrollment meetings, conducting retirement plan reviews and ensuring plan compliance.

Before joining Kolinsky, Brooks was a financial planner at Ernst & Young and a pension consultant at Madison Pension Services Inc.

“Strengthening our retirement plan division is a key element of our strategy for growth and investing,” said Steve Kolinsky, managing member and founder of Kolinsky Wealth Management. “With her strong credentials, leadership capabilities and extensive experience in this field, Kanika Brooks is an excellent addition to our team.”

Brooks holds a bachelor’s degree from Columbia University.

Guardian Expands 401(k) Sales Force

The Guardian Insurance & Annuity Company Inc. named Jasonn D. Potter regional vice president for its retirement plan sales team.

Potter, a wholesaler retirement specialist, will be responsible for developing Guardian Retirement Solutions’ sales of funding vehicles to qualified plans in Utah, Colorado, Montana, Northern Nevada and Idaho.

Guardian Retirement Solutions has expanded its 401(k) sales force by 40% this year, Potter’s addition brings the company’s total number of wholesalers to 17.

“Jasonn is a highly respected professional with a proven track record of success,” said Jason Frain, vice president of 401(k) product management and development at Guardian Retirement Solutions. “He is a perfect example of how Guardian’s retirement sales team is growing with the addition of experienced professionals to handle the increasing demand in the small-plan market.”

Potter comes to Guardian from The Standard, where he was a regional pension consultant for more than five years. He previously served as a financial adviser with American Express Financial Advisors. A graduate of University of Oregon with a BS in Business Administration, he has earned his Series 7, 63, 65 and Life and Health Insurance Licenses.
