Ascensus, a retirement plan solutions provider, is expanding its online presence with Todd's Blogand a new company page on LinkedIn.

The company will use these platforms to engage financial professionals and others seeking insight or information about the retirement plan industry.

Todd’sBlog—named after Todd Berghuis, head of Ascensus’ ERISA compliance group—provides timely and clear analysis of the latest retirement plan news. When new regulatory or legislative issues are introduced, or updates are announced, financial professionals can go to Todd’s Blogto understand the impact on their business and clients.

In addition to providing details about Ascensus’ products and services, the LinkedIn page enables visitors to communicate with Ascensus about retirement news, industry trends and their needs as consumers in the retirement plan marketplace.

The Schaeneman Group Joins Morgan Stanley

The Schaeneman Group has joined the Morgan Stanley Wealth Management office in Hartford, Connecticut.

The team includes William F. Schaeneman  Jr. and David R. Neal. Schaeneman joins the firm as a vice president and portfolio manager, and Neal as a financial adviser. In addition, Neal holds the chartered retirement planning counselor (CRPC) and chartered retirement plan specialist (CRPS) credentials from the College of Financial Planning.

Formerly with Merrill Lynch in Hartford for 12 years, Schaeneman is a native of Wakefield, Massachusetts. At Merrill Lynch he achieved the Chairman’s Club Recognition multiple times as well as the Charles E. Merrill Circle. Before that, he was a banking professional in commercial lending and private banking with several regional and money center banks.

Neal worked for Merrill Lynch in Hartford for seven years. He holds a bachelor’s degree in general economics from Eastern Connecticut State University, where he graduated cum laude.
