First Mercantile Names Regional Sales Director for Southeast

Scott Gardner joined First Mercantile's national sales team effective today as regional sales director for its Southeast region, the company announced.

Gardner is responsible for developing new business through bank brokers, consultants, employee benefit brokers, independent broker/dealers, life brokers, registered investment advisers, regional stock brokers, third-party administrators (TPAs), and wirehouses in Georgia and Alabama, according to an announcement.

Prior to First Mercantile, Gardner spent more than 13 years with ADP Retirement Services, most recently as national account district manager.

First Mercantile is a collective investment trust (CIT) recordkeeper.

Jupiter Lends FAF Advisors Sales Help

Minneapolis-based FAF Advisors has formed a strategic sales alliance with Jupiter Distribution Partners of Greenacres, Florida.

According to a news release, Jupiter will provide FAF Advisors’ retirement-platform channel with sales support through Jupiter’s team of 12 internal wholesalers and three national external wholesalers.

Jupiter will also provide FAF Advisors with qualified leads, closing/sales support, benchmarking tools, and due-diligence services through 401kExchange, a Web-based marketing firm affiliated with Jupiter.

“We believe that this alliance integrates several of our core competencies, bringing together Jupiter’s expertise in retirement-sales distribution and our significant asset-management capabilities,” said Mike De Feo, managing director of FAF Advisors’ platform distribution channel.
