MFC Global Investment Management Announces New Hires

MFC Global Investment Management (MFC GIM), the asset management arm of Manulife Financial Corporation, announced two new hires to its Boston-based teams.

Nancy C. Irving has been named a managing director, Institutional Sales, responsible for the East Coast sales territory. She reports to Frank Saeli, global head of Sales and Relationship Management for MFC GIM.  

David W. Zielinski joins as a director and product manager for the firm’s U.S. fixed-income area, reporting to Jeffrey Santerre, managing director and global head of Product Management.

According to the announcement, Irving joins MFC GIM from Congress Asset Management in Boston, where she was vice president of Institutional Sales. Prior to that, she held senior sales positions with The Boston Company Asset Management/Mellon Financial in Boston. She began her career at Bank of New England and has more than 20 years of experience in the financial services industry.  

Zielinski most recently was a vice president and senior product engineer, Global Fixed Income, at State Street Global Advisors (SSgA). Prior to that, he was a portfolio manager in currency management with SSgA. He began his career with MassMutual Financial Group as an investment analyst, and later worked at Babson Capital Management as an investment analyst in quantitative management.  

Hancock RVPs Get New Territories

John Hancock Retirement Plan Services (RPS) announced that two regional vice presidents (RVPs) will take on new territories.

Effective immediately, Howard Joelson will become the RVP for San Diego and Hawaii regions and Bridgette Rutter will become the RVP for Orange County. Joelson was previously responsible for sales and service in Orange County, while Rutter was responsible for RPS’s Bank Channel.

Joelson brings more than two decades’ worth of financial services experience to his new territories. A 23-year veteran of John Hancock, he assumes the former post of Cheney Hunt, who was recently named regional sales manager for John Hancock Retirement Plan Services’ Midwest Region. Joelson will be based in the company’s San Diego sales office.

Rutter, who has an extensive background in sales, most recently served as RVP of Retirement Plan Services Bank Channel. In her new position, she will be based in the company’s Irvine sales and service office.
