Barings Appoints Director in Multi-Asset Team

Baring Asset Management (Barings) appointed Christopher Mahon to director of asset allocation research.

Mahon reports to Percival Stanion, head of the global multi-asset group and chairman of the strategic policy group. Mahon starts in September and will be based in London.

He is a senior member of the investment management and decisionmaking team responsible for multi-asset investment at Barings. He will provide strategic recommendations for asset allocation to the multi-asset team, as well as participate in the strategic policy group,he company’s global macro research and asset allocation committee.

Mahon has more than 13 years of experience in financial markets and joins Barings from Momentum Global Investment Management. At Momentum, he was the head of investment strategy, responsible for the asset allocation and portfolio construction teams, and was the lead portfolio manager for its flagship multi-asset funds.

He holds a CFA and a masters of arts in natural sciences from Cambridge University.
