Segal Hires VP and Consulting Actuary

 

Robert Kurak joined The Segal Company as a vice president and consulting actuary.

 

 

Kurak has more than 30 years experience in the employee benefits field. For more than 25 years, he worked for Mercer in Minneapolis, where he was instrumental in expanding the multiemployer retirement plan business. He served as a principal and consulting actuary. and was Mercer’s national leader for its multiemployer retirement plan Center of Excellence.

Kurak holds a bachelor’s in mathematics from Hamline University (St. Paul, Minnesota) and is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, a member of the American Academy of Actuaries and an enrolled actuary.

Kurak is based in Segal’s Minneapolis office and reports toTom Del Fiacco, senior vice president and office leader.

 

DCAdvisors Names John Rowe for Client Consulting Group

DCAdvisors announced the addition of John Rowe to the client consulting group and the firm’s leadership team.

Rowe brings 30 years of experience, including senior leadership roles in business development, client management and product development while working at American Express (now Ameriprise), Merrill Lynch, Genworth and MetLife. He is proficient in lifetime income solutions within target-risk and target-date investment strategies. Rowe holds a bachelor of science in finance and economics from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana.

“John’s experience with institutional investments and his industry knowledge will be immensely valuable to our clients as we advise retirement plan sponsors on the new 408(b)2 and 404(a)5 fee transparency requirements, design appropriate risk-mitigation strategies, and deliver enhanced service provider and investment menu benchmarking services,” said Dan Esch, DCAdvisors’ managing director.
