Russell Appoints Reardon for Consultant Relations Post

Russell Investments named Mike Reardon as consultant relations regional director in its U.S. institutional consultant relations practice.

Reardon, who has more than 20 years of experience in the financial services industry, joins a team of six other consultant relations professionals at Russell. He will be responsible for strengthening Russell’s relationships with the consultant community in the eastern United States.

Reardon will communicate regularly with consultants to outline the solutions Russell offers to institutional investors.

Reardon, who is based in Boston, joins Russell from Congress Asset Management where he was vice president, head of consultant relations. Prior to Congress Asset Management, he was the senior client service officer for the Massachusetts Pension Reserves Investment Management Board.

Fidelity Picks Byrne for Transition Management Group

Fidelity Capital Markets has appointed Kevin J. Byrne, formerly of ConvergEx, for TM.

A Fidelity news release said Byrne will be responsible for developing and implementing the strategic business plan as well as managing the day-to-day operations of the unit.

Byrne has more than 12 years of experience in transition management, specifically in portfolio trading, transaction cost analysis, and equity and fixed-income derivatives. He most recently was head of the U.S. Transition Management Group at ConvergEx Group and, prior to that, led J.P. Morgan’s North America Transition Management business.

Byrne will report to Mike Cashel, senior vice president and head of equity trading, Fidelity Capital Markets. “Transition activity has picked up over the past year, with today’s plan sponsors focused on reducing the cost, time, and risk that accompany transition events,” said Cashel.
