Sheri Fitts to Lead Asteri Collective
As executive director, she succeeds the founder of the retirement plan consulting firm member organization.
The Asteri Collective, a national alliance of independent retirement plan consulting firms, announced Sheri Fitts as its new executive director on Monday, succeeding Founder Ann Slotwinski, who is retiring.
Members of the Asteri Collective service more than 51,200 retirement plans, 2.2 million participants and $158 billion in assets under administration. The collective launched in August 2025.

Sheri Fitts
Fitts was selected following a search led by a subcommittee of Asteri’s board, according to the announcement. She has more than 30 years of experience in the retirement plan and wealth management industries, founded the consulting firm Sheri Fitts & Co. and started the Sway conference for financial services leaders.
“I’m excited about the opportunity to use my experience and industry connections to help [third-party administrators] step out of the shadows and shine as retirement plan consultants,” Fitts wrote about her new job in an email to PLANADVISER.
In a Monday LinkedIn post, Fitts confirmed she will continue to organize Sway while running Asteri.
“Sway isn’t going anywhere,” she wrote. “Sway grows leaders. The Asteri Collective grows firms. I’m lucky enough to steward both rooms, and each one makes the other better.”
At last year’s PLANADVISER 360 conference, Fitts addressed the need for financial advisers to have authentic personal branding.
Slotwinski, the outgoing executive director, is the creator of National TPA Day, which recognizes the contributions and expertise of TPAs and is observed on the first business day after the October 15 deadline to file Form 5500.
In a statement, Slotwinski said, “Building the Asteri Collective has been one of the most rewarding chapters of that journey. Asteri has grown into a community with a powerful voice and an important role to play in the future of our industry.”
The Asteri Collective addresses industry issues, including technology, cybersecurity, data standardization, operational efficiency and stronger coordination among retirement plan consultants, recordkeepers, advisers, broker/dealers, defined-contribution-investment-only services and other industry partners.
