Fiduciary Decisions Launches DCIO Benchmarking Suite

The platform provides investment-menu, fund and target-date-fund analysis for defined contribution investment only teams, asset managers and retirement plan advisers.

Fiduciary Decisions Inc. released an investment benchmarking suite designed for defined contribution investment only sales teams, asset managers and retirement plan advisers.

The DCIO Investment Lineup Benchmarking Suite is designed to generate reports for advisers or consultants at different stages of the sales and due diligence processes, according to the company’s announcement. The reports provide analysis of typical plan investment menus, total lineup expenses, and performance and fund comparisons.

The platform also offers target-date-fund analysis, allowing users to compare incumbent series TDFs with alternatives based on glide path, active or passive management, and allocations to nontraditional assets.

The suite also includes investment expense reports that compare specific fund share classes with custom benchmark groups across 17 market segments. The platform draws on Fiduciary Decisions’ proprietary database of more than 375,000 DC plans, sourced from service providers and fee disclosures.

“Plan sponsors and consultants aren’t looking for the lowest-cost option; they’re looking for a prudent process and a clear rationale,” said Tom Kmak, Fiduciary Decisions’ CEO and co-founder, in a statement. “Our job is to give DCIO teams and the advisers they work with the data, the method and the reports to make that case, and to help asset managers earn and keep their place on the shelf.”

The reports are supported by Fiduciary Decisions’ analytics platform and custom report-writing tools, which allow DCIO and home-office teams to track utilization by adviser firm and company sales resource.
