Morningstar Debuts New Features in Direct Advisory Suite
Morningstar has added new features to its Direct Advisory Suite to help financial advisers analyze and integrate private investments into client portfolios.
The key features added include expanded investment research, enhanced risk profiling, portfolio transparency tools, proposal-ready reporting and an alternative investments hub. According to the firm, the new capabilities are designed to assist advisers in evaluating, comparing and communicating the role of private investments within a broader portfolio context.
Orion and iCapital Collaborate
Orion and iCapital announced Tuesday an expanded technology integration, developed as part of Orion’s Premier Partnership Program, that equips independent advisers with single sign-on access to alternative investments.
“This deepened collaboration with iCapital simplifies the complexities of alternative investments, enabling advisors to build more diversified, goal-aligned portfolios,” said Todd Bertucci, executive vice president of Orion Advisor Technology, in a statement. “As demand for alternatives surges, this integration ensures independent advisers can deliver the sophisticated solutions investors seek, strengthening their ability to drive financial success.”
World Investment Advisors Announces Technology Tools
World Investment Advisors is providing access to two new systems, and expanding access to a third, as part of its technology stack build-out.
The recent additions include access to Holistiplan, software that simplifies and scales tax planning; Forms Logic, an electronic document management and paperless account opening system; and FMG Suite’s MyRepChat, a platform that allows advisers to communicate compliantly with clients and prospects via text message.
“We are thrilled to follow up on the successful launch of WorldMAP by introducing additional state-of-the-art technology tools to allow our advisers to offer industry-leading solutions to their clients through efficiencies and centralization of key functions to our home office,” said Troy Hammond, CEO of World, in a statement.
MyVest Partners with InvestSuite for Custom Model Building
Enterprise wealth management technology provider MyVest has partnered with global B2B InvestTech company InvestSuite to offer custom model portfolio construction and management at-scale.
The integration gives home offices and advisers improved control over the creation of custom investment models using InvestSuite’s advanced model-building tools, making them available within the Model Management module of MyVest’s Strategic Portfolio System.
The custom models can be used alongside investment vehicles with MyVest’s SPS, including mutual funds, ETFs, separately managed accounts and other third-party models, to build personalized, multi-asset class strategies. Advisers can blend home office models with custom models constructed in the InvestSuite system.
“InvestSuite’s and MyVest’s complementary strengths combine to give wealth management firms the opportunity to align unique client circumstances with tax-aware implementation at scale,” said Brian Marchiel, chief product officer of MyVest, in a statement.
AdvisorEngine Evolves Technology Suite
AdvisorEngine announced a series of enhancements to investment management capabilities in its wealth management platform, aimed at solving several Registered Investment Adviser practice management challenges.
Examples of enhancements include new portfolio construction workflows, unified management account support, optimized tax efficiency, improved proposal and account opening, more detailed performance reporting, new cash management workflows, a refreshed user interface and experience, and revamped client dashboards.
Cambria Rolls Out Global Equal Weight ETF
Cambria announced the rollout of its Global Equal Weight exchange-traded fund, effective June 4 and anticipated to launch September 25. The fund’s contribution deadline is September 3.
The GEW ETF provides diversified exposure to global equities through an equal-weighted portfolio. The ETF is part of a 351 Exchange, which allows investors to contribute stocks or other securities to a newly formed ETF in exchange for ETF shares.
AllianzIM Adds Buffered ETFs to its Product Suite
Allianz Investment Management launched two new ETFs: the AllianzIM U.S. Equity Buffer100 Protection ETF and the AllianzIM U.S. Equity Buffer15 ETF. Both funds, with ticker symbols AIOO and QBSF, respectively, are designed to reset quarterly, allowing investors to refresh their downside risk parameters and refresh upside more frequently.
AIOO seeks 100% buffered protection against market losses over each three-month outcome period, capturing a portion of market gains determined by a quarterly participation rate. QBSF seeks a 15% buffer against market declines, capping upside exposure and resetting every three months before accounting for any fees or expenses of the fund.
Both ETFs will be offered at an expense ratio of 64 basis points annually. Each will be traded on the Cboe BZK exchange.
Neuberger Berman Launches Tax-Managed Long/Short Strategy
Investment manager Neuberger Berman has launched a tax-managed long/short strategy as part of its expansion of the Neuberger Custom Direct Investing platform. The strategy uses leverage (e.g., 130% long and 30% short) to improve both pre-tax and after-tax returns.
According to the firm, the strategy addresses the growing market interest in long/short approaches and may help high- and ultra-high-net-worth individuals to better manage their tax liabilities.
The NB CDI platform managed $6.6 billion in assets as of May 30, 2025.
SoFi Announces New Global Remittance Service and Crypto Investing
SoFi has launched a new self-serve offering for international money transfers, also known as global remittances, as well as cryptocurrency investing, which is slated to launch later this year. Both products currently have waitlists for members to gain access once they are available.
Eligible SoFi Money members will be able to initiate a transfer in the SoFi app by entering the recipient’s contact details and amount to send in U.S. dollars. Funds will automatically be transferred on secure blockchain networks, converted into local currency at the destination, and deposited into the recipient’s account.
The new crypto offering will allow SoFi members to buy, sell and hold cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin and Ethereum. SoFi also intends to offer stablecoins and other services, such as providing members the ability to borrow against their crypto assets, expanding payment options and introducing new staking features.
CAIS Launches First Series for Models Marketplace
Alternative investment platform for advisers, CAIS, launched its first series of investment models onto the CAIS Models Marketplace. The models are developed by managers BlackRock, Carlyle, Franklin Templeton and KKR Model Portfolios.
The new models enable advisers to leverage single-click model allocations across private and registered funds, for both subscription-based and ticker-traded products on the CAIS platform.
BlackRock brings three single-manager, multi-asset model portfolios, offering exposure to public and private markets across risk profiles. The portfolios will include allocations to private equity, private credit, as well as public equity and debt, through select BlackRock vehicles.
Carlyle delivers three single-manager, multi-asset models, offering various levels of asset class exposure, designed for investment objectives including return enhancement, supplemental income and capital investment. The models will offer allocations to private equity and private credit through select Carlyle vehicles.
Franklin Templeton adds one holistic, multi-asset and multi-manager model, offering diverse private markets exposure through allocations to private credit, real estate, infrastructure, private equity secondaries and co-investments and asset-backed finance through vehicles offered by Alternatives by Franklin Templeton and select third-party partners.
KKR brings three single-manager, multi-asset models designed to diversify beyond the traditional 60/40 stock and bond portfolio. The models’ primary objectives are to generate income, preserve capital and boost returns. The models will include allocations to private equity, private credit, private real estate and private infrastructure through select KKR vehicles.
S&P Dow Jones Indices Collaborates to Bring the 500 Index On Chain
S&P Dow Jones Indices announced Tuesday a collaboration with decentralized infrastructure provider Centrifuge to bring the S&P 500 index on chain. The two will license the index to access the fund tokenization space through Centrifuge’s real-world asset integration.
The providers plan to create one of the first digital tokens that to represent exposure to the S&P 500 index. The tokens can then be owned, used and transferred through the blockchain, providing access to a broader range of market participants.
Anemoy Capital, a web3 native asset manager powered by Centrifuge, has been licensed by S&P DJI and global asset manager Janus Henderson—the sub adviser for the fund—to offer the Janus Henderson Anemoy S&P 500 Index Fund Segregated Portfolio. The portfolio is expected to launch later this year, subject to regulatory approval.
