Securian Adds 11 New Funds to Menu

Securian Retirement Distributors says that 11 new investment options are now available to qualified retirement plan sponsors.

According to a press release, that brings the firm’s full array to 71 variable options from 30 fund families along with two guaranteed accounts. The firm said that especially noteworthy is the addition of an international index option, which means the firm’s array now offers the ability to cover all the major asset classes with a passively managed investment option. A new multisector bond fund offers yet another option in the specialty asset class for those seeking a differentiator-type investment.

The new investment options include (separate account name—underlying investment option):

  • Multisector Bond I — Loomis Sayles Bond Fund, Institutional Class
  • Small Value Equity XII — Dreman Contrarian Small Cap Value Fund, Class I
  • Small/Mid Value Equity III — DFA U.S. Targeted Value Portfolio
  • Small Growth Equity XIII — Allianz RMC Small-Cap Growth Fund, Institutional Class
  • Small/Mid Growth Equity III — Alger SmallCap and MidCap Growth Fund, Class A
  • Mid-Cap Value Equity IV — RiverSource Mid Cap Value Fund, Class R5
  • Large Equity VIII — Janus Adviser INTECH Risk-Managed Core Fund, Class I
  • Large Growth Equity X — Turner Core Growth Fund, Investor Class
  • International Core Index I — American Beacon International Equity Index Fund, Institutional Class
  • International Growth II — Van Kampen International Growth Fund, Class I Shares

Smith Barney Appoints New Global Stock Plan Services Managing Director

Smith Barney has named Julian Clark, former President and CEO of Mellon Investor Services, as Managing Director of Smith Barney Global Stock Plan Services.

According to a press release about the appointment, Clark will oversee the administration of equity compensation plans for more than 700 corporate clients. He will report to David Schrohe, head of Smith Barney’s Corporate Client Group, which specializes in employee benefit and compensation plan services.

Clark spent nearly 14 years with Mellon Financial Corporation, most recently as President and CEO of Mellon Investor Services. Prior to joining Mellon in the U.S., he was President and CEO of the RM Trust Company in Toronto, Canada.

Smith Barney Global Stock Plan Services’ offerings include recordkeeping and brokerage services for stock option, restricted stock, stock purchase, SARs and performance share plans.
