PLANADVISER Industry Leaders Awards 2022
The inaugural PLANADVISER Industry Leaders Awards dinner and celebration, held in May in New York City, honored advisers and the role they play in helping employers—and, ultimately, participants—make choices that lead to a secure and dignified retirement. After all, the road to financial security for most Americans is paved by employer-sponsored retirement programs, with some help from payroll deferral and compounding. Advisers and consultants continue to play a pivotal role in helping employers frame their retirement and financial wellness benefits programs and in encouraging thousands, if not millions, of American workers to reach their retirement goals.
Previously, PLANADVISER presented its awards at a joint annual dinner with PLANSPONSOR; that event was paused for two years during the height of the pandemic. During those two years, PLANADVISER celebrated the 15th anniversary of the Retirement Plan Adviser of the Year Awards, the 10th anniversary of the Top 100 Retirement Plan Advisers list and the 15th anniversary of PLANADVISER itself. The editorial team also spent time reimagining the awards formats, rethinking entry criteria and what the awards should represent. This made the team realize that it might be time to break away from the traditional PLANSPONSOR and PLANADVISER dinner and celebrate advisers in their own forum. Many things have changed in the retirement plan advisory industry since the last time we honored its finest in person—and since the launch of PLANADVISER in 2006—but these professionals’ dedication to retirement plan success and participant financial security remains.
