MassMutual Adds Three Relationship Managers

Eunice Cabrera was promoted, while John Andresen and Michael Gopen were hired in the firm’s retirement services division.

Cabrera, who has been with MassMutual since 2003, has been promoted to senior relationship manager, serving the mid-market segment in the south central region. She was most recently a retirement education specialist responsible for the Florida, Georgia and Puerto Rico territories. A graduate of Boston University with a BS in business administration, Cabrera holds FINRA Series 6 and 63 licenses and is bilingual. She reports to Brian Barrett, an assistant vice president in the retirement services division.

Andresen, now a director-level relationship manager based in Northern California, is responsible for managing large-market customers. He comes to MassMutual from Smith Hayes, where he was an investment consultant and registered investment adviser. Before that, Andresen spent 10 years in benefits consulting and relationship management with Milliman. He holds a BA in psychology from the University of Nebraska, FINRA Series 7 and 63 licenses and the designations of Certified Pension Consultant (CPC), Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) and Certified Retirement Services Professional (CRSP). Andresen reports to Tom Cremona, a vice president in MassMutual’s retirement services division.

Gropen is now a senior relationship manager with the company, responsible for mid-market customers in metro New York and New Jersey, based out of Port Jefferson Station, New York. Before joining MassMutual, Gropen was a client relationship manager with Gallagher Retirement Services for seven years. He graduated from Penn State University with a BS in communication disorders. He holds New York State Life Insurance and FINRA 7, 6 and 63 licenses, as well as an Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF) designation. He reports to M. Palmer Whitney, an assistant vice president in the division.

“These qualified new senior relationship managers are seasoned retirement services professionals and bring a wealth of experience to our client management team,” said Una Morabito, vice president of client management for the retirement services division. “As the division continues to grow, their expertise and excellent reputations throughout the industry will help MassMutual further strengthen its relationships with retirement plan advisers and sponsors across the country.”
