Commonfund Appoints Three to Multi-Asset Program

Wilton, Connecticut-based Commonfund announced three new appointments to support and contribute to the expansion of its Multi-Asset Program for mid-sized nonprofit clients.

Steven C. Snyder will be the managing director and head of the program. Snyder is a 15-year veteran of Commonfund and currently managing director, head of Client Services. Snyder will work closely with Commonfund’s investment, operations and information technology functions to enhance and grow Multi-Asset Program relationships. Snyder will also oversee the implementation of a new back office reporting system to increase each investor’s view into the analytics of their investments.

Michael H. Strauss, current Commonfund chief investment strategist and chief economist, will team with Snyder to communicate Commonfund’s points of view to Multi-Asset Program investors. Additionally, Strauss will work with Snyder to construct new investment strategies to complement those available to current Commonfund Multi-Asset Program clients.

Marc Bernhardt, currently a relationship officer serving Multi-Asset Program clients, has been appointed to the role of director, portfolio strategist. Reporting to Strauss, he will direct the investment team’s efforts in support of all Multi-Asset Program clients.

Commonfund was founded as an independent nonprofit investment firm and manages nearly $25 billion for endowments, foundations and pension funds.

PSA Names Senior Investment Consultant

Gina Gurgiolo has joined the consulting team of Plan Sponsor Advisors (PSA) as a senior investment consultant.

Gurgiolo will provide investment consulting services and technical expertise in plan design, compliance and enforcement, vendor search, plan governance, fee benchmarking and fiduciary responsibilities.

Gurgiolo has 15 years’ experience in retirement plans in consulting and product management roles. She has also led compliance, design, administration and relationship management teams in the recordkeeping industry. Her clients include nonprofit organizations as well as those in the private sector, such as health care corporations, colleges and universities, and government entities.

Gurgiolo was awarded a bachelor’s degree, magna cum laude, from Washington & Jefferson College, and elected to Phi Beta Kappa. She holds a juris doctorate from the University of Pittsburgh with a concentration in taxation law, and a master of law degree in executive compensation law.
