2022 PLANADVISER Retirement Plan Adviser of the Year

Award recipients across all categories will be honored at the PLANADVISER Industry Leaders Awards celebration in New York City in May of 2022, along with many other award winners across the retirement industry.

This year, the editorial team at PLANADVISER has made some key changes to the Retirement Plan Adviser of the Year Awards, starting with the fact that the award is now issued by the PLANADVISER publication, whereas formerly it was issued by PLANSPONSOR.

In addition, the 2022 awards are being issued in six brand new categories, in a move away from the prior strategy of recognizing individuals and teams in categories based solely on firm size. For 2022, finalists and winners will be recognized in six qualitative categories, representing excellence in the following areas:

The first award category was open for nominations from plan sponsors only, while adviser partners across the industry—including recordkeepers, asset managers, advisers, product providers and more—were able to submit nominations in the other five. As in past years, self-nomination continued to be prohibited.

These new award categories, we believe, provide more context for advisers looking to compete and be recognized, instead of their just being fitted into a category based on the number of people in their office, with no set metrics about what makes one adviser rise above another in firms of the same size.

Following the judging process, we will recognize the PLANADVISER Retirement Plan Adviser of the Year Award winners this coming May at an entirely new PLANADVISER Industry Leaders Awards dinner in New York City. Thanks to all the advisers and industry professionals who have participated in this new approach to PLANADVISER’s flagship awards program.
