Great-West Names Three Portfolio Managers

Thone Gdovin, Sam Moyn and Jeffrey Smith, investment professionals at Great-West Financial, have been given portfolio manager roles.

Gdovin, an assistant vice president in investments, has been appointed to a senior portfolio manager role. Gdovin has been with Great-West Financial since 2004 and also from 1997 to 2000. She is a Chartered Financial Analyst. 

Moyn, senior portfolio trader and analyst, has been made an assistant portfolio manager. He joined the company’s investments department in 2000.

Smith, assistant manager of structured finance, has been made an assistant portfolio manager. He has been with the investments department since 2006. 

The three managers, who continue to report to Catherine Tocher, are part of a portfolio management team led by Tocher, senior vice president of investments. She takes on an expanded role as primary investment expert and strategist for the capital preservation products in the firm’s retirement services division.

Lincoln Names Sales Director for IRD Team

Troy Fontenote was hired by Lincoln Financial Group as sales director for the South Central region.

Fontenote joins the institutional retirement distribution (IRD) team, supporting the South Central region. He reports to Michael Hall, the IRD national sales director. 

In his more than 21 years of experience in the financial services industry, Fontenote worked as director of sales at Principal Financial Group, where he focused on retirement plan solutions from micro plans to the institutional sector.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in marking from Lamar University and FINRA Series 7, 63, 65 and 24 licenses. Fontenote is a Chartered Retirement Plan Specialist (CRPS).
