DWS Investments Appoints New Director

The U.S. retail unit of Deutsche Bank’s global Asset Management division announced Michael Hughes has been named Director and Senior Account Manager, responsible for National Accounts.  

Hughes will be responsible for handling relationships with national and regional broker/dealer and bank channels. He will be based in Chicago and will report to Michael Woods, a Managing Director, CEO and US Head of Distribution for DWS Investments Distributors, Inc. 

Hughes is joining DWS from Van Kampen, where he worked as an executive director in national accounts.

Transamerica Unveils Value Fund

Transamerica Asset Management Group will introduce Transamerica WMC Quality Value in November 2010.

A news release said the strategy is sub-advised by Wellington Management Company, LLP, and seeks returns in excess of the Russell 1000 Value Index with less downside risk.

Transamerica WMC Quality Value is managed by a team of portfolio managers, averaging 21 years of experience. Vice president Matthew G. Baker leads Wellington Management’s Quality Value investment team.

In addition to the Class A share class, Transamerica WMC Quality Value will be available in the following share classes: C, I, I2 shares.
