Fred Reish has joined the Ferenczy Benefits Law Center as of counsel. The firm, which is based in Atlanta, is dedicated exclusively to employee benefits law.

Reish, a nationally recognized thought leader, has practiced employee benefits law since 1973. He said in a statement he had previously worked closely with Ilene Ferenczy, managing partner of FBLC, and he was “beyond happy to be practicing law with Ilene again.”

Ferenczy became an attorney after more than a decade as a third-party administrator and served as the president of the National Institute of Pension Administrators from 2024 to 2025. She is also a fellow in the American College of Employee Benefits Counsel, the highest honor awarded to ERISA lawyers.

“Working with Fred again is so exciting!” Ferenczy said in a statement. “The time I spent as his protégé was incredibly formative and represented some of the best times I’ve had practicing law.”

Alison Cohen, a partner at FBLC, said in a statement, “It will be great for all of us to work with a living pension legend. It’s truly wonderful that the nerdiest pension nerd of all is joining the FBLC Nerd Herd.”

Reish joined Prime Capital Financial last month as director of its fiduciary and Employee Retirement Income Security Act practice. Prior to that, he was a partner in Faegre Drinker’s benefits, executive compensation and investment management groups. He was previously honored by PLANADVISER as a “legend” in retirement planning and is a research fellow at the Retirement Income Institute.
