The Retirement Services division at American United Life Insurance Company (AUL), a OneAmerica company, appointed Deborah Rubin to regional sales director in the Washington, D.C.-based office.

Under the direction of regional vice president Sam Kneuper, Rubin will provide sales and product support to financial professionals in the greater Washington area who sell 401(k) and 403(b) plans to their clients, according to a news release. Her area will include Maryland, D.C., and Virginia.

Rubin began her career in banking before transitioning into retirement plan sales in 1997 for Manulife Financial/John Hancock. In 2000, she joined ING as a regional sales director in the Corporate Markets Division.

By 2001, Rubin was promoted to general manager and vice president for ING’s Mid-Atlantic region, where she sold retirement plans, expanded relationships with brokers, and third-party administrators (TPAs), and oversaw a staff of sales representatives, internal wholesalers, client relationship managers, and an administrative staff, the release said. She became a divisional vice president, and in 2008, took on a new role for ING as head of TPA and channel management.
