Roberts Joins Reish Luftman to Focus on Advisers

Jason Roberts moved from Edgerton Weaver, LLP, to join as a partner in the Employee Benefits practice at business law firm Reish Luftman Reicher&Cohen.

Los Angeles-based Reish Luftman Reicher & Cohen said in a release that Roberts focuses on representing the unique needs of broker/dealers, registered investment advisers (RIAs), and securities firms. In this role, he advocates progressive action with the Department of Labor (DOL) and Congress in areas related to the operation of employee benefits plans (see “DoL Rule Gives More Advice Options).

Reish Luftman said Roberts will further enhance the firm’s ability to provide specialized and focused counsel to broker/dealers, RIAs, plan providers, and recordkeepers.

Roberts previously led the ERISA Plan and Investment Fiduciary group at Edgerton Weaver in Los Angeles. He serves on the Editorial Advisory Board of the Employer Resource Institute’s California Employer Adviser, the Board of Directors for the Los Angeles Chapter of the Financial Planning Association (FPA) overseeing Professional and Legislative Issues/Government Relations, the policy board for the Investment Fiduciary Leadership Council (IFLC), and as a co-director of IFLC’s Southern California Fiduciary Roundtable, according to the release.

SellingLTC.com Launches Free Long-Term Care Insurance Resource Center

For advisers interested in selling or learning more about long-term care insurance, SellingLTC.com offers a free resource center.

The LTCi Cafe will feature “LTC Bullets” from Steve Moses, president of The Center for Long-Term Care Reform, and “By the Numbers,” which offers some of the latest industry statistics provided by The American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance, the release said. The Cafe also includes a Skills Center, which allows producers to test their knowledge and receive immediate feedback.
