Securian Announces Four Promotions

The Securian Financial Group named four executive officer promotions.

Rick Ayers was promoted to vice president and will lead the retirement plan product line, including plan sponsor servicing, financial management, due diligence and financial operations. Ayers joined Securian in 1986 as an assistant management services analyst after earning a bachelor’s degree at St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota.

Leslie Chapman, chief risk officer and chief actuary, was promoted to senior vice president. Chapman joined Securian in 1976 as an actuarial trainee. She has a bachelor’s degree from Minnesota State University in Moorhead, Minnesota.

Dave LePlavy, treasurer and controller, also was promoted to senior vice president. He joined Securian in 1979 as an auditor trainee. He has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin and an MBA from the University of Minnesota.

Larry Cochrane was appointed vice president and will lead all retail product distribution. Cochrane joined Securian in 2006 as national sales vice president of independent distribution and led the successful development and growth of Securian’s Independent Distribution Group. Cochrane has a bachelor’s degree from Providence College.
