About one-quarter (26%) of Americans rely on an adviserwhen making financial decisions, only 18% have sought guidance from one, and only 17% have an established relationship with one, according to Northwestern Mutual’s “2015 Planning & Progress Media Study: The Value of Financial Advisers.”

The percentage of employers offering Roth 403(b)s rose from 16.9% in 2010 to 25.2% in 2014—a 49% increase.

Financial Wellness
Forty percent of employers now offer financial wellness programs, according to an Alliant Credit Union survey of 408 human resources (HR) executives at companies with more than 1,000 employees. 

The Value of an Expert
The vast majority (92%) of Americans working with a financial adviser say that ­person is helping them reach their financial goals,  and 86% say their adviser relieves the pressure of trying to plan their family’s financial future by themselves. Just 74%, however, say their financial adviser is worth the expense.
