Mitchell Harris, CEO of BNY Mellon Investment Management is retiring, effective as of October 1. Hanneke Smits will take over the role of CEO. Smits leaves Newton Investment Management.

Infosys will assume day-to-day operations for Vanguard’s defined contribution (DC) plan recordkeeping business. Vanguard will oversee all aspects of its investment management and guidance for sponsors and participants. Both firms anticipate no freeze or conversion with the
transition.

Alight Solutions has named Cesar Jelvez as chief customer experience officer. In the newly created role, Jelvez will lead Alight’s customer experience and delivery organization.

ISS ESG has appointed Bonnie Saynay to lead global ESG [environmental, social and governance] research. Saynay is the founder of Global ESG Advisors and former global head of responsible investment at Invesco Ltd.

Russell Morrison will be global chief investment officer of Aegon Asset Management. He recently left Barings and served in the fixed income division of First Union Bank, among other companies.

Nationwide has entered the pension risk transfer market, with Paula Cole leading the new team. Cole joins Nationwide from Legal & General Retirement America, a U.K.-based specialist in pension de-risking.

Hall Benefits Law added Robert Forman as lead ERISA [Employee Retirement Income Security Act] counsel and Kenneth Beaver as chief operating officer.

Alliance Pension ­Consultants LLC acquired Reed-Ramsey Inc., a recordkeeping, actuarial, compliance and human resources consultant. Robert Reed, president, along with a team of administrators, will also join Alliance.

Craig DeSanto was elected president of New York Life effective immediately, replacing Chairman and CEO Ted Mathas. DeSanto will oversee all businesses of the company.
