John Hancock Funds is now offering a proposal building tool to financial advisers who are registered users of its Web site.

The Proposal Builder allows advisers to package John Hancock investment solutions and other value-added material, including a sophisticated Monte Carlo analysis, into a customized and comprehensive investment proposal for clients, according to a press release.

Using the Proposal Builder, advisers begin by selecting among John Hancock Funds’ Lifestyle (target-risk) or Lifecycle (target-date) Portfolios, or they may choose to build a customized portfolio using any of the individual John Hancock funds. They may then run the Monte Carlo analysis (which runs 5,000 simulations covering 15 different asset classes) to determine the probability of reaching specific retirement or investment goals based on the client’s portfolio holdings.

Other materials, including fund fact sheets, tools such as a “Life Events Checklist,’ and brochures such as “The Power of Asset Allocation & Diversification’ may be added to the package, the release said. Advisers are able to review the proposal, choose a cover sheet template, and either download a PDF of the proposal or request that John Hancock Funds bind and ship the proposal directly to the adviser.
