AllianceBernstein Names President as CEO

AllianceBernstein L.P. announced Friday that President Onur Erzan will also become its CEO, effective April 1, 2027. Erzan will succeed Seth Bernstein, who will retire on March 31, 2027, and continue to serve on AB’s board of directors.

Erzan was named president in January, a position previously held by Bernstein. As president, Erzan oversees AB’s strategy and corporate development functions and leads the company’s private wealth management, global asset management distribution and global private alternatives businesses.

Erzan first joined AB in 2021 as head of the global client group and was then named leader of private wealth management in 2022, before assuming the role of president.

Prior to joining AB, Erzan spent 20 years with McKinsey & Co., most recently as a senior partner and co-leader of its wealth and asset management practice.

Bernstein worked for 32 years at J.P. Morgan, becoming the managing director and global head of managed solutions and strategy at J.P. Morgan Asset Management. In 2017, Bernstein became both president and CEO of AllianceBernstein. The following year, he was appointed senior vice president and head of asset management at Equitable Holdings Inc. Equitable announced its intention to merge with Corebridge Financial Inc. in May.

Bernstein is of no relation to Sanford Bernstein, founder of a namesake firm now known as AB.

AB had $919 billion in assets under management as of August 31.
