Rob Austin

WTW hired Rob Austin as a defined contribution strategist, effective April 1, joining immediately following the March 31 end of his tenure at Alight Solutions.

Austin reports to Chris West, WTW’s head of U.S. LifeSight pooled employer plan and its defined contribution and nonqualified strategy leader. Austin continues to reside in Charlotte, North Carolina, and will support clients mostly across the northeastern U.S.

Austin will partner closely with clients to enhance the value of their DC programs, deepen existing client relationships and shape strategic DC solutions, according to a WTW spokesperson. The strategy role focuses on ensuring high‑quality DC consulting, grounded in strong industry and regulatory knowledge.

Austin starts at WTW one day after concluding nearly 21 years with Alight Solutions, formed in May 2017 after the acquisition of Aon Hewitt. Austin served as head of thought leadership from June 2017 until his departure. He previously served as a consulting actuary, director of retirement research and partner in Aon Hewitt.
