Cresset Names Executive Managing Director, Institutional Consulting

Mark Thompson
Cresset Capital Management, LLC, a multi-family office and registered investment adviser, appointed Mark Thompson as executive managing director of institutional consulting.
Thompson, who is based in New York, will lead Cresset’s outsourced chief investment officer business strategy and partner with foundations, endowments, nonprofit organizations and complex multi-generational clients. He will also join Cresset’s management committee.
Thompson previously served as managing director of Morgan Stanley’s Fiduciary Consulting Group, an RIA within Morgan Stanley that he launched in 2021, which consists exclusively of institutional clients. He has spent nearly two decades in the wealth management industry, with the past eight years focused on building out and leading institutional consulting businesses.
Thompson earned a bachelor’s degree in economics and art history from the College of the Holy Cross and a master’s of business administration from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College.
Cresset has more than $235 billion in assets under management and advisement.
Republic Capital Group Appoints Chief Compliance Officer

Lori Kamen
Republic Capital Group Holdings Inc., an investment bank specializing in financial advisory services for wealth and asset management firms, appointed Lori Kamen as chief compliance officer.
She will work closely with firm leadership and banking teams on regulatory alignment while maintaining operational efficiency.
Kamen has served in various compliance and officer roles for various broker/dealers and investment advisers since 1997.
Oppenheimer Names Head of Debt Private Placements
Oppenheimer & Co. Inc., an investment bank wealth manager and a subsidiary of Oppenheimer Holdings Inc., said Eric Nortman joined the firm as managing director, head of debt private placements.
Nortman will be based in New York and will report to Rob Lowenthal and Gilbert Dychiao, co-heads of investment banking at Oppenheimer. As the head of debt private placements, Nortman will raise capital for investment banking clients, work closely with the firm’s fixed income division and deepen relationships with issuers and investors.
Nortman has more than 20 years of experience across private credit, debt capital markets and leveraged finance. Most recently, he served as managing director at Blue Torch Capital, a direct lender and credit investment manager providing transition capital to middle market companies. Previously, he was at Blackstone, the middle-market direct lender Medley Management and BMO Capital Markets.
CFP Board Appoints Chief of Staff

June Taylor
The Certified Financial Planner Board, the professional body for personal financial planners in the U.S., appointed June Taylor as chief of staff to the newly appointed CEO K. Dane Snowden, effective March 16. Taylor will serve as strategic adviser to Snowden, support the board of directors and oversee human resources and the executive office.
Taylor brings more than 20 years of senior leadership experience across government, education and the private sector. She previously served as chief operating officer of the Colorado state attorney general’s office; executive director of the Colorado Department of Personnel and Administration and state personnel director on the cabinet of then-Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper. She also was chief human resources officer for Denver Public Schools; and senior manager for culture, diversity and equal opportunity programs at Lockheed Martin Space.
Taylor began her career as a federal attorney with the U.S. Department of Energy’s Western Area Power Administration and later held senior roles at the Federal Communications Commission, including chief of staff to the Consumer and Governmental Affairs Bureau, where she previously served as Snowden’s chief of staff.
Taylor holds a law degree from the University of Denver College of Law and graduated cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from the University of New Mexico.
