Schroders, Apollo Announce Wealth, Retirement Investment Product Partnership
The agreement is intended to expand their offerings, including a collective investment trust for the US defined contribution pension market.
U.S. private equity firm Apollo Global Management Inc. and British asset manager Schroders PLC announced a partnership Monday, one intended to develop a “next generation” of investment solutions blending private and public markets and aimed to expand choices for wealth clients and retirement savers.
According to the announcement, the collaboration aims to strengthen the firms’ presence in the U.K. wealth market with new products that combine public and private fixed-income exposures sourced from both Schroders and its private markets arm, Schroders Capital, and Apollo. The first product from the partnership is expected to launch later this year.
In the U.S., the firms plan to launch a collective investment trust for the defined contribution pension market in the second quarter of 2026. This CIT will combine complementary private market exposures from Schroders Capital and Apollo.
“Our complementary capabilities can help address a large and growing societal need for reliable income solutions,” said Apollo Global Management CEO Marc Rowan in a statement. “Together, we look forward to developing the next generation of hybrid products.”
Schroders will also be able to allocate to Apollo from certain existing client portfolios, focusing on capabilities that complement Schroders Capital and could improve client outcomes.
“We have always said that we would only pursue partnerships which enhance our existing offering and it is clear that this agreement with Apollo meets that criteria,” Schroders’ group chief executive, Richard Oldfield, said in a statement. “We cannot wait to get started together.”
According to the announcement, the partnership reflects an increased demand from global clients for hybrid solutions from public and private markets to meet saving and retirement needs. Schroders had $1.06 trillion in assets under management as of June 30, 2025. Apollo had $908 billion of assets under management as of September 20, 2025.
