Venable Adds Counsel in Private Wealth Planning Group

Venable LLP added Jennifer Campbell as counsel in its West Coast private wealth planning group, based in the firm’s Los Angeles office. Campbell advises high-net-worth individuals, fiduciaries and business owners on estate planning, trust and probate administration, and related tax matters.

“Jennifer’s arrival strengthens our client offering and adds depth to the firm’s trust and estate capabilities in California,” said Jason Trenton, chair of Venable’s West Coast private wealth planning group, in a statement. “Her practical approach and experience with complex trust, tax and fiduciary matters make her an invaluable resource to clients navigating the full life cycle of wealth planning and administration.”

Lincoln Financial Appoints EVP, CIO

John Morriss

Lincoln Financial Group appointed John Morriss as executive vice president and CIO, effective October 13. He reports to Ellen Cooper, the company’s chairman, president and CEO.

Morriss is responsible for overseeing the company’s general account, funds management and private market investment strategies, totaling more than $300 billion in assets under management. He also serves as a member of the firm’s senior management committee.

Morriss brings more than 30 years of experience in investment management. Most recently, he served as senior vice president and head of public and private fixed income at Fortitude Re, overseeing the organization’s insurance-focused investment portfolios. Before Fortitude, he held the role of senior vice president of fixed-income investments at Lincoln Financial for four years. Earlier in his career, he spent 18 years at TIAA in several leadership roles involving finance and fixed-income research, international and high-yield credit, and portfolio management.

FSI Names VP of Regulatory Affairs, Deputy General Counsel

On Thursday, the Financial Services Institute named Andrew Hartnett vice president of regulatory affairs and deputy general counsel. He will report to David Bellaire, FSI’s executive vice president and general counsel.

Hartnett’s role will be to collaborate with FSI’s advocacy staff to advance the organization’s regulatory agenda and strengthen engagement with federal and state offices, legislative offices, FSI member firms and independent financial advisers.

He most recently served as deputy insurance commissioner at the Iowa Department of Insurance and Financial Services. Hartnett previously led the Missouri Securities Division as commissioner and served as president of the North American Securities Administrators Association. Earlier, he held senior roles in the Missouri attorney general’s office and practiced law representing broker/dealers and investment advisers in regulatory and enforcement matters.

TRA Names VP of National Sales and Distribution

Tim Lastivka

The Retirement Advantage Inc. welcomed Tim Lastivka as vice president of national sales and distribution. Lastivka will report to Matt Schoneman, president and owner of TRA.

As VP, Lastivka will lead TRA’s national sales team, which partners with financial advisers, wealth managers and recordkeeping wholesalers to deliver retirement plan solutions. He will focus on developing the team’s capabilities and strategic partnerships.

Lastivka brings more than two decades of experience in retirement plan distribution, leadership and strategic growth. Most recently, he served as divisional vice president at Transamerica Corp. Prior to that role, he was Transamerica’s regional vice president.
