MassMutual Retirement Services Beefs Up Sales Team

MassMutual's Retirement Services Division has added six new sales representatives to its institutional sales team over the past several months, the company announced.

Jon Shuman has joined MassMutual as managing director for the northern New Jersey and Manhattan territories. Shuman, based in MassMutual’s New York, New York office, joins MassMutual from JP Morgan Chase where he was the sales director for the Northeast. He previously held positions at Prudential and Putnam Investments.

Richard Lynch has joined MassMutual as managing director based in San Francisco, supporting the company’s Career Agency System. Lynch, who was most recently with Lincoln Financial, and before that with John Hancock, will cover the California, Washington, Hawaii, Nevada, Arizona, Oregon, Arkansas, and Utah.

Mike Sullivan has joined MassMutual’s Midwest sales team supporting the company’s Career Agency System. Sullivan joins from OneAmerica where he served as regional vice president of business development.

Scott Caloway has joined MassMutual as managing director based in Atlanta, Georgia. Prior to joining MassMutual, Caloway spent nine years as a wholesaler with ADP Retirement Services where he was a national sales leader.

Brian Sweeney has joined MassMutual’s Midwest sales team and covers the Ohio, Kentucky and West Virginia territories. He has 14 years of retirement services experience, most recently as vice president, retirement specialist with Fidelity Investments. Prior to Fidelity, Sweeney was with Putnam Investments.

Scott Hockenberry has joined MassMutual’s Taft-Hartley sales team for the Midwest and western United States. Based in the Chicago field office, Hockenberry comes to MassMutual from UMB Bank after serving as vice president of sales for the past 15 months. Prior to UMB, he was with Union Labor Life Insurance as the director of investor relations.
