MassMutual Appoints TPA Channel Managers

MassMutual’s Retirement Services Division has added two new positions to its support organization for third-party administrators (TPAs).

Robert Shull was named in July to the new post of TPA channel manager for the Western region. Tiffany Hanks was appointed to the new role of TPA channel manager for the Eastern region, effective November 3.

Shull supports MassMutual’s sales representatives and TPAs in Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Louisiana, Nevadva, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming. He has been with MassMutual since January 2007 and most recently served as managing director for Alaska, northern California, and northern Nevada. He assumed his new role in July and is based in San Francisco.

Hanks supports MassMutual’s sales representatives and TPAs in all other states. She most recently served as the TPA regional manager for ING, in Hartford, Connecticut. Hanks is based in Arlington, Virginia.

Both TPA channel managers will provide ongoing product and service education to assist TPAs in the growth of their retirement services practices, according to a news release from MassMutual. They will meet regularly with the TPAs in their respective territories and coordinate regional seminars and events on behalf of MassMutual. They will also represent MassMutual Retirement Services at conference events.

“The TPA channel manager role was created to further support the growth and success of third-party administrators and the retirement plan advisers who work closely with them,’ said Shefali Desai, vice president of MassMutual Retirement Services Division. “MassMutual is committed to providing the resources necessary to help our loyal TPAs expand their services to plan sponsors in the retirement services marketplace.’
