Mahoney&Associates Appoints Hooban as Qualified Plans Specialist

Mahoney&Associates, a privately held compensation and benefits management firm, hired David Hooban as qualified plans specialist.

Hooban joins the firm as an integral member of the qualified plan consulting team, providing clients with advisory services pertaining to retirement program design and planning, according to a news release.

Before joining Mahoney & Associates, the release says Hooban was a senior relationship manager with Mutual of Omaha, and has more than 20 years experience in the industry.

In his new role, Hooban will provide strategic consulting services and is the primary point of contact for all qualified plan activity. Focusing on asset growth, plan profitability and employee participation rates, he will work closely with clients’ internal corporate management to develop and optimize plan investment selections and service efficiency, according to the release.

ETF Portfolio Solutions Hires Koehler as CIO

ETF Portfolio Solutions, Inc., an RIA firm specializing in exchange-traded funds (ETFs), brought aboard William Koehler as CIO.

Prior to joining ETF Portfolio Solutions, Koehler, was a vice president at American Century Investments, where he led the day-to-day investment oversight efforts. He joined American Century Investments in 1996 after serving as vice president and director of research at DeMarche Associates, Inc., a national pension consulting firm based in Overland Park, Kansas, according to a release.

ETF Portfolio Solutions, also headquartered in Overland Park, is a fee-based registered investment adviser (RIA) specializing in the portfolio management of ETFs. Founded in 2004 by Richard D. Romey, the company serves individual and institutional investors by designing, implementing, and maintaining equity, fixed income, and alternative investment portfolios.
