Edelman Names Christian Mango as Retirement Advisory Practice Leader

The executive previously served at OneDigital and the Alera Group.

Edelman Financial Engines LLC announced Tuesday the appointment of Christian Mango as a senior vice president and its retirement advisory practice leader.

Mango will be responsible for scaling the Retirement Plan Services business through strategic acquisitions, adviser recruitment and organic growth. He will report to Steven Gaven, Edelman’s chief financial officer.

“The opportunity to extend and scale [Edelman’s] capabilities to retirement plan advisers and smaller plans is significant, and we’re excited to have Christian on board to help us realize that potential,” said Ralph Haberli, Edelman Financial Engines’ CEO and president, in a statement. “He has built and scaled retirement businesses throughout his career, and his experience, leadership and relationships across the industry will help us to build one of the country’s leading retirement advisory platforms.”

Mango has nearly 30 years of retirement industry experience and most recently served as senior vice president for mergers and acquisitions at OneDigital. Prior to that, he led the Alera Group’s Retirement Plan Services as executive vice president and national practice leader.

Edelman had more than $300 billion in assets under management as of March 31.
