ProFunds Taps Hill as Head of Investment Strategy

ProFunds Group, which touts itself as the world’s largest manager of short and leveraged funds, says that Joanne M. Hill has joined the firm as head of investment strategy.

In this new role, Hill’s responsibilities will include research, development, and dissemination of investment strategies utilizing the firm’s ProShares exchange-traded funds (ETFs) and ProFunds mutual funds. She will report to Steve Cohen, managing director and head of ProFunds’ recently formed Strategy Group.

Prior to joining ProFunds Group, Hill was with Goldman Sachs for 17 years. According to the announcement, her experience there included leading global equity derivatives research, focusing on institutional applications of ETFs, futures, options, swaps, and index portfolio trading. She most recently served as a managing director in Goldman’s Pensions, Endowments, and Foundations Group.

The $28 billion ProFunds Group includes 76 ProShares short and leveraged ETFs, and 115 ProFunds mutual funds (see ProFunds Launches Short, Leveraged Exposure ETFs).

Chase Named to DCIO Team at JPMorgan Funds

JPMorgan Funds has named Jeffrey Chase as head of Southeast regional sales in the defined contribution investment-only business, the company announced.

A news release said Chase will report to Glenn Dial, head of National Sales for the business. He will be based in Atlanta and will cover the territory from Miami to Washington, D.C.

Chase most recently served as a regional vice president at ING in the retirement business, according to the release. He previously held similar positions at The Newport Group and ADP.

“We are happy to have Jeff Chase on board to help address increased demand from retirement advisers for information and advice in these challenging markets,” said Dial, in the release.
