Is Bond Fund Misclassification a Serious Problem?
Back in November 2019, the National Bureau of Economic Research published a paper in its working paper series: “Don’t Take Their Word for It: The Misclassification of Bond Mutual Funds.” The authors reported key findings that, if presumed to be true, raise some tricky questions for the mutual fund analysis and reporting industry.

Thursday, the Dow gained 131.29 points (0.37%) to finish at 35,443.82., the Nasdaq closed 21.80 points (0.14%) higher at 15,331.18, and the S&P 500 increased 12.86 points (0.28%) to 4,536.95. The Russell 2000 was up 16.96 points (0.74%) at 2,304.02, and the Wilshire 5000 gained 163.73 points (0.35%) to 47,208.42.

The price of the 10-year Treasury note increased 1/32, with its yield moving down to 1.292%. The price of the 30-year Treasury bond increased 25/32, bringing its yield down to 1.903%.
